Mason began sports writing towards the end of 2010 through HoopDat.org, a Saints and Hornets sports blog created by himself and a former college classmate at Tulane University. In March of 2011, he began writing for At the Hive, SBNation's official New Orleans Hornets blog, and remained there until joining Hornets247 at the start of 2012.
