I'm the night chef/co-owner of The Green Goddess, a fine dining hole-in-the-wall located in the French Quarter on Exchange Alley. I've been a basketball fan for longer than I've earned money as a cook, which is more than 25 years and counting.... We opened the restaurant in May of 2009 and we are having a ball! Our food and cocktails/wine/beer program are adventurous and curated for those who love something funky and unusual to experience in an intimate, "chef-inspired" atmosphere. But that's enough about how I earn my money so I can attend Hornets games! I am an old school baller, who values defense and making the mid-range jumper, the outlet pass, and clean hard fouls so there's no easy "and 1" layups. Growing up, my heroes were Walt Frazier and Pete Maravich, and I'm still not sure there's ever been a better player than Oscar "Big O" Robertson. Of course, I love me some New Orleans Hornets, but truth to confess is that I simply love watching NBA hoops. I seldom get involved in hater-ade against any one player (not even you, Kobe!) because as long as the player gives it everything he's got, I'm diggin' it. I want to see my football-crazed city adopt basketball as a second son, and I'd love to see Louisiana ownership bring home the NBA Title ASAP! Turn-ons for the forum: noticing the turning point of a game, the small detail that created the big play, joking around, expressing a burning desire to win. Turn-offs: trade wank cuz it's so mind-numbingly boring and we ain't GMs, despair that NOLA deserves to be in NBA, and rudeness. Curious: stat geekdom that slows down to correlate to how a player performs, and insight into other NBA cities and their internet sites interacting with Hornets fans.
