The Hornets try to keep this thing moving tonight when they make the trip to Arco to play zee Sacramento Kings. Like seemingly every other game lately, this one may have some serious Playoff implications, as the Kings are fighting for that eighth spot just like us. They're currently just a game behind the Hornets in the standings.

  • The Kings have won two straight after a three-game losing streak. They knocked off the slumping T-Wolves in Minnesota last Wednesday, then took care of the Iversonless Nuggets in Sacto on Saturday.

  • SG Kevin Martin has been the Kings leading scorer all season. He dropped 28 on both the Wolves and Nuggets and has now scored 20+ in five consecutive games. My sources tell me that what makes Martin so effective offensively is his ability to put the ball in the basket. Really.

  • The Hornets beat the Kings down in New Orleans just a couple of weeks ago. Devin Brown was the hero in that one, hitting a late three to lead the Bugs to an 88-84 win.

  • Kings' head honcho Eric Musselman is suspended for tonight's game as a result of his DUI conviction. Hence the picture.

  • Ron Artest has been pretty dangerous forthe Kings lately, averaging 22.5ppg and 7rpg in his last four. Mike Bibby has struggled shooting in the past two games, but he's still good for about 15 points and 5 assists a night.

  • Shareef Abdur-Rahim, who is usually one of the League's better power forwards, has been struggling this season, even losing his starting job to the more rugged Kenny Thomas. Shareef sat out last Wednesday's game at Minnesota with a sore knee.

  • This will be Bobby Jackson's first game back in Sacramento as a Hornet. Peja Stojakovic is still too crippled to play, but he's with the team on the current road trip.
