The Hornets hurt my eyes and my feelings with their performance in Washington yesterday, but today they have a chance to make amends by demolishing the New York Knicks in that city with the tall buildings and the loud people.

Stuff to impress your friends...
Hornets (W-L): 39-19
Knicks (W-L): 18-41
Game Time: 6:00pm 6:30pm Central.
TV: CST
Radio: KMEZ 102.9 FM in New Orleans and WIBR 1300-AM in Baton Rouge.
Linkage: Ryan tells everyone to shut up and play | KnickerBlogger.net
The Knicks have lost 13 of their past 17 games. They last played on Saturday, losing in Orlando, 92-118. Jamal Crawford is their high-scorer (20.8ppg), Zach Randolph makes great decisions, and their team chemistry is at an all-time high. Seriously, if we don't beat the Knicks tonight, I'm sticking my head in the oven. I won't have it turned on or anything, but the Hornets won't know that. They'll be feeling all freaked out and guilty for a minute.
Feel free to discuss this game in the comments below. You may use both big and little words; I love them all equally.
[UPDATE] Hornets win, 100-88.

Anybody else notice that the Hornets effort has diminished almost exactly in proportion to Ryan's effort in the game previews?... Fluffy: "I mean, if it's not worth a position-by-position analysis, it must not be a very important game. Screw that rebounding thing." ;)

I'm not going to make any soul-eating jokes this time. Partly because I didn't like the karmic result the last two times... but mostly because. Well. The soul-eating joke I'm itching to make about the Knicks is way, way too obvious. It doesn't even really need to be said. Therefore I will restrain myself.

for all the debbie downers around here, including myself, lets just realize how great this team is. no one expected us to make the playoffs, except us. and certainly not to be at the number 1 spot for a few weeks. now we are third, and look to get homecourt advantage even. even with a little trouble, ppl have expected us to really fail. so far so good, 58 games into the season. after tonight, we'll have 23 games left. i think we will be fine, no matter what seed we get. just the playoff exposure will help this team and the city, if nothing else. for the west to be so tight, and still holding a top seed, shows we are a good team, despite being so young. so cheer up!

What is with that picture of Crawford? Is he wearing like a half-dozen nicotine patches on his shoulder? Man, those Knicks are screwed up. :)

He's had that bandage for a few games now. Apparently it's a shoulder sprain, although when I googled it I did find someone who suggested it was a "stop sucking patch." In other news, Jordy just reported that Chris Andersen could be reinstated by tomorrow.

Crappy half. How are we tied? Are the Hornets incapable of beating the sucky teams?

Ryan, I just miss the pre-game mid-afternoon distraction... Nice win. Not well-played, but when it counted, we put it away. We've looked down ever since the Utah game (really, the first quarter of the Utah game.) Luckily, we'replaying terrible teams until Saturday.

yeah emir, peja and pargo need to stop making out. mo learned his lesson and swore off pargo. its when your shot is off, do other things like get to he basket before taking another long jumper. so mo has his shot back. would be interesting if he played more. i like mike. he's been shooting better. wish he didn't play with pargo though. its gets stagnat if both are dribbling the ball. ron, good teams win when they play badly. hows that for ya? its true too! that kind of ugly game is what we'll be seeing in the playoffs against teams like spurs, houston, utah. the faster paced teams will even get ugly with us. we need to learn how to win slug fests. i recall doing so earlier in the year, before we started to blow teams out. we have to get used to it as fans i guess. chris, tyson and mo were clutch near the end. especailly chris. he had a hand in every possesion down the stretch.
