Some shizzle to pass away the evening...
- Lots of talk today on the internets about Bruce Bowen's cheap shot on Chris Paul last night. Here's Henry Abbott's take on the whole thing...
Here's what I saw: One of the gems of the NBA, young Chris Paul -- tiniest of MVP candidates -- heads to the floor to gather up a loose ball. In the ensuing struggle, all kinds of thing happen. But if I'm not mistaken, the most noteworthy of them was not one but two kicks from the foot of Bowen to the upper torso (getting awfully close to the head) of Paul.
The good news though is that the NBA is reviewing the play. Most folks seem to think that Bowen was trying to hurt Paul, so hopefully the League office will see it the same way and hand down a suspension.
And just in case you haven't seen it, here's the YouTubeness...
- Adam Haluska is back on the radar, having latched on with the D-League's Iowa Energy. He played his first game on Tuesday and racked up 19 points and 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Marcus Vinicius is nowhere to be found. - Back to TrueHoop: Mr. Abbott tackles Mark Cuban's ban on bloggers in the Mavs locker room. A fine read.
The NBA really does need to figure out a policy on credentialing bloggers. Really, all they need do is instruct each team to have a PR person spend 30 minutes a day scanning team blogs for inappropriate or unprofessional content. That way they can figure out which ones actually help promote the team through healthy discussion, and which ones just plain suck. Simple as. - Tim Floyd back in Louisiana? Or maybe not. Regardless, it's a good excuse to run this picture again...

- Happy birthday to our old friend Bobby Jackson, who turns 35 today. Bobby was the oldest Hornet until he got traded last month. Can anyone guess who the oldest player on the team is now? Answers on a postcard or in the comments.
And I'm done. Some good stuff due ahead of the Lakers game tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Great to hear Adam is playing ball in Iowa. Not a shock that he's starting off well up there. I think we'll see him in the NBA somewhere again. If we're lucky, maybe he'll come back for camp next fall. Shame to hear no word yet on Marcus.

Yeah, Mike James is about five months older than Ryan Bowen. Both are 32 years old. Meanwhile, Ryan's wardrobe was born in the 50's.

sellout number 7 for 2008 tonight! we are like the celtics up in here with all our sellouts. another way we are like them, besides being such great teams, both the teams crowds get into games, unlike those stupid laker fans who only get up during the last minute of the game to cheer loudly or to boo one of their own players! there is a reasn why ppl call them the fakers. their crowds never seem to really care about the game, but more about being seen and watching celebrities. if you ever watch one of their games, you'd be surprised by how queit their arena is, and of course the dozen big boobed ladies the cameras catch in the first few rows not paying attention to the game, but talking on their cells and looking at their blackberrys! fakers !

Bowen just got suspended by the NBA for tonight's game. It's the first suspension of his unbelievably dirty career, which he got for "striking Chris Paul with his leg." It also will end his 500 consecutive game streak, the longest in the NBA. Richly deserved, for that @$$ clown...

Just saw that, Jason. Thanks. I'm actually surprised he got suspended after seeing the altercation from another angle on YouTube. Oh well, he was due I guess. Hopefully the Spurs will miss him tonight and lose in Detroit.
