The Hornets are in Detroit today to take on the Pistons. It's a matinée showing due to ABC picking the game up and broadcasting it a country seriously deprived of Hornets basketball. Welcome to the party, America.

Game info...
Hornets (W-L): 44-20
Pistons (W-L): 47-18
Game Time: 12:00pm Central.
TV: ABC
Radio: KMEZ 102.9 FM in New Orleans and WIBR 1300-AM in Baton Rouge.
Linkage: Ryan's game preview | Detroit Bad Boys | Need4Sheed
David West will be a game-time decision today after spraining one of his many ankles on Friday. Chris Paul also hurt an ankle in that game but he's made of bricks and nails so he's going to play anyway.
Comments are open. Enjoy the game.
[UPDATE] Pistons blow us out with big bench play, 105-84.

i appreciate the abc coverage and all but i do miss gil and his sidekick's voices behind the game. it's annoying listening to these commentators speak...especially when they say "New Orleeeeeens".

Best Comment Ever: As Hornets top off an 11-0 start with a TC alley oop: "America, this is what you haven't been seeing. This team is REALLY good."

Has Hubie Brown called us the Jazz yet? It seemed like he had so much trouble keeping us straight when we played Utah a few weeks ago.

At the half. Bench is horrible so far. CP is really limited with that ankle. He can't attack and get to the hole like normal. And Jarvis Hayes killed us, although most of his shots were contested. He's just feeling it. Since West didn't travel, does anyone know who took his spot on the active roster? I'm guessing Birdman since he's a big, but maybe it's Rasual.

I'd just as soon see them give CP3's second half minutes to Mike James. No D-West and a half speed CP3 leave us too short handed for Detroit at home. Pargo hasn't been much help to this point either.

Did anyone see that play where Ely got the ball inside and Chandler was wide open at the other side of the lane? No pass. Ely opted to spin baseline and fire up a fadeaway. Lucky he got fouled. @Chris C: I don't think he's called us the Jazz... yet. I love Hubie Brown though.

This is the part of every game we lose that frustrates me - we keep getting chances and we blow easy shots. CP needs to shoot more.

It seems like people aren't even trying to grab offensive rebounds anymore.

Why did it take Scott so long to take CP out.

We were really banged up today. No West, Chris was hobbled and Chandler and Bonzi got some knocks in the game. I didn't think we did a bad job shutting down the Pistons big guns, but their bench was a killer. Hayes and Maxiell in particular.

Definately a tough game, can't expect Hayes to score 29. We won 2 out of 3 in a tough stretch of games, so can't be to upset. Kind of upsetting that we got blown out in our first network tv game since coming to New Orleans. By the way to Hilton get a BJ from Bryron Scott's wife, he isn't even getting garbage time minutes. What's up with that?

Sanunak - Sounds like Hilton is in the dog house. Even though the coach says he doesn't have one we all darn well know he does. That doesn't bode well for Hilton cause he probably won't play for the rest of the year, especially the way Julian is playing. Geez, I'm happy about that. (the way Julian is playing cause I like Hilton and he's just is goofy - hope he can snap out of it.) Some thing about nothing - went to the hockey game last night at the Ford center. Surprised to see people wearing Hornets t-shirts. Guess we got to do something with them.

How far do we fall? Answer: Mathematically, with a win we would have had sole possession of second. Also mathematically (here's the upside) it's impossible for us to fall at all, since the two teams below us are still a game back and inactive today. So hey, if they had to go 2-1 this week that was the game to lose anyway. Injuries and not against a West team.
