Some shizzle for your perusal on a Tuesday evening. We'll start with another image of Chris Paul from last night's game...

(source: NOLA.com)
It's actually that same moment captured in the pic atop the game recap, but this angle really captures the fire in his eyes, that primal killer instinct, the absolute refusal to be denied. That's the essence of Chris Paul in one fantastic image.
On to the shizzle...
- Julian Wright gets a whole funky post dedicated to his fantasticness on Straight Bangin', a blog not even entirely about basketball. This may be the start of the JuJu hype we all know is coming.
- J.E. Skeets delivers a great read on Ball Don't Lie, asking team bloggers to discuss their best- and worst-case Playoff match-ups. Check out part one and part two.
I chimed in and went with the Suns as the team our Hornets would most like to face, then cheated and picked three foes (the Lakers, Jazz and Spurs) we'd rather not see.
Other contributors think the Nuggets and Jazz would fare well against the Hornets, while the Mavs would be better off avoiding us.
(I would also like to take this opportunity to rag on Skeets for not picking CP as his "Whoa Boy" on today's Jones (always worth a listen). Instead he gave it to Mike Dunleavy for his inferior performance against the Knicks. Why, Skeets? Why?)
- Speaking of Playoff match-ups, some folks are getting excited about a potential Hornets-Warriors showdown, while others think we might be G-State's best chance to advance beyond the first round.
- NBA.com wonders what if the Hornets had never traded Kobe Bryant? Hmm. Methinks he would never have beat out David Wesley for a starting spot.
And that will just about do it for now. Ryan may be checking in with a post before the day is done, so keep an eye out for that.
As for the other eye, you could do worse than focusing it on TNT tonight, where our next opponent, the Houston Rockets, will put their mega-streak on the line against the visiting Boston Celtics. Tip off is at 8:30pm Central.
And of course Ray Allen would have to be injured. Dammit.

Let's count the ways Rafer Alston sucks. I'm watching this game vs. the Celtics. And he's taunting and complaining and shoving, and just being all around the reason why some peoplehate NBA ballers. Ticktock6just told me he called out D-West and said he's not that good when asked about him maybe not playing Wednesday. Has Rafer never heard of bulletin board material? The Bees are going to suck the souls dry out of this Rockets team, which will already be demoralized having been sodomized by the C's tonight.

Who needs Ray Allen when you can kick Houston's ass by 20 pts on their home floor. An idea for another post before tomorrow's game, dedicate a whole post on how much we hate Rafer Alston and why he sucks so bad. Think about it.

Those same Celtics come to our house on Saturday. Lets hope Peja brings it. I have a feeling he's gonna be key.

We can all agree: If Kobe had never been traded, Chris Paul and David West wouldn't be Hornets today. But who would've brought more winning: A Kobe-led squad from late-90s to today, or 10+ years of this young Hornets core?
