And so begins the longest road trip of the season. The Hornets are in Indianapolis today to face the Pacers. Those guys play in the East, where the rims are bigger and the guard dogs have less teeth, or so I've heard.
Gonna skip the opposing team imagery today and just give you Tyson Chandler celebrating the gloriousness...

Ah, that works. Essential info ahead of this one...
Hornets (W-L): 47-21
Pacers (W-L): 29-41
Game Time: 6:00pm Central.
TV: CST
Radio: KMEZ 102.9 FM in New Orleans and WIBR 1300-AM in Baton Rouge.
Linkage:
- Ryan refutes the importance of Playoff experience and previews tonight's game
- Indy Cornrows
- At the Hive: Off to Indiana
- Chris Paul in Men's Vogue
The Pacers will be up for this one because, despite being 12 games below .500, they're just 1.5 games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the eighth and final Playoff spot in the East. Indeed, that's how they roll over there on the right side.
As always, feel free to do the commenting thing below all through the evening.
Let's start it off good, Hornets.
[UPDATE] Hornets win ugly, 114-106.

Byron's got them on alert that Indy's hungry, so hopefully the Bees'll come out swingin'.

Lol, thanks for the Chris Paul link Ron. My favorite line: "[Paul's shoe], produced by noted cobbler Michael Jordan..." Hahaha. Also, were any of y'all lucky enough to get the actual Hornets colored CP's??

He cobbles good, that Michael Jordan. I haven't seen the colored CP's for sale anywhere, but then I haven't really been looking. I got an all-black pair a few weeks back for our contest winner.

Bummer. The black ones are cool, but everything seems to stand out so much more in colored ones. Also, you get to have people laugh at you for wearing teal shoes... which is an open invitation for you to make fun of their favorite team! A definite win-win.

Rough start in indy...hope the Bees can figure this one out...looks like they're going to need one of those big third quarters.

Defense is horrible for the most part. Giving up offensive rebounds on the back of that. We don't deserve to be leading at the half.

Go Birdman! Go Birdman! Gentlemen, we now have us a bad-assed bench.

Great to see Birdman in getting aggressive. He really seems to appreciate how rare an opportunity is in Byron's rotation unless you take care of business. Peja as always, is shooting the lights out. D-West and CP with the regular dominance. But we're only up by 6? Fuck.

cavs wont have wallace from what i heard but im not 100% sure of anything yet and ye peja came out with almost back to back 3s then they quit passing it to him and he finaly got it and forced it and it messed up his shooting for the rest of the night

Agreed on Peja. I can't say he should have been taking shots ahead of West tonight though. D-Weezy was doing it hardcore. I dread to think what we would have been like without him.

ron west make shots but i saw maybe 5 times where he had 3 or 4 defenders on him and half his team wide open and he didnt even think about passing sometimes is better to pass then shoot he needs to learn that and i loved watchin the birdman play hes agressive and we need a big guy like that sometimes

@Emir: I hear you. He took some bad shots tonight, turning into and trying to shoot over double teams instead of passing the ball back out. Still, he had a great game. I'd rather see West force those shots than witness another offense where the ball didn't even get inside the three-point line, which happened several times tonight.
