The Hornets go into the Lion's Den tonight, travelling to Boston to take on the Celtics, one week removed from beating them in New Orleans. I think there is no question that both teams are going to be going hard in this one - Boston for revenge, Hornets for respect. Currently the Hornets are the only team in the league that the Celtics have not beaten.
Garnett, I'm sure, will be out for blood.
Can't say I'm not worried about this one. Boston won't be at the tail end of a brutal road trip and will be ready for us this time. The Hornets also can't let them get ahead early again. Making a run like we did last time in the fourth will be a lot tougher this time around.
Essential Information:
Hornets(W-L): 49-21
Celtics(W-L): 59-15
Off Efficiency: Hornets 108.7(6th), Celtics 107.6(9th)
Def Efficiency: Hornets 102.5(5th), Celtics 96.3(1st)
Gametime: 6:30 PM Central
TV: CST Locally, NBATV Nationally

Sorry about the lack of a game preview today, but hey, we just saw this battle a week ago. You should know we need to defend Rondo better and that when Sam Cassell steps on the floor, we'll destroy him.
Feel free to discuss the game in the comments below. And remember to take a drink every time Tyson Chandler or David West rebounds or CP3 gets an assist.
[UPDATE] Hornets play tough but lose big, 92-112.

Great pics, Ryan! I'm kind of intimidated now. Then again, KG probably is the scariest player in the league. Intense. Hopefully Byron has our guys pumped, because I think you're right. If they wait to the last minute again, they're in trouble. That said, I think we have a great chance to win this one, on the road or not.

My god, that reminds me of the old "Roxanne" game from back in college. Put the song on the radio, and everytime Sting sings the name "Roxanne" you drink. It wasn'tso much a game as it was an excuse to get totally bleary-eyed.

Cp3 will be facing the ONLY pointG that is equal in athleticism with him, in Rondo.......Paul is a lot more skilled and experienced BUT Rondo will make our MAN work hard to be effective.........actually Rondo is a very big part of the defensive effort the Celtics give every night. Tell me another pointG at a major college that lead his team in steals and REBOUNDS (9 a game!!!)....... We will win if 2. DWest gets 20 and12, 3.Stoj hits at least 4 threes, 4. Tyson gets more rebounds than Garnett and 5. we get 35 or more off the bench....we may not be able to accomplish all the above but me must play with effort and skill and more desire than the Celts to get the W!!!!!

I just want the Hornets to come out and play hard tonight. If the effort is there, I'll be happy no matter the result.

Nope, we don't play them again... ... until the Finals!!! Also, we're the only team in the NBA Boston has not defeated this year. It'd be awesome to keep it that way.

Peja is shooting pretty good so far, and our bench played good for us, 2nd half will be tough.

Ron you've been drinkin already I'd say. I'd only be good if we get the W. I want us to be the only team that Swept the Celts this season. Right now its halftime. It feels like Boston is kicking our ass but we're actually out in front.

AArrggghhh! Between the refs and these Boston announcers my head might explode. I actually defended these drunken Irish clowns as"not sucking as bad" as some other homer announcers the other day. To whoever it was I was defending them to. I officially apologize. These guys suck! Earlier one was bitching about a no-call while a Celtic was taking free throws- they didn't call it fast enough for his liking. Morons! Go Bees! Lets beat these bitches!

Boston's commentators are annoying as shit. "This is a message game to New Orleans." "Bonzi can't guard Pierce. What he did down in New Orleans was pure luck." "Paul Pierce is the MVP." WTF?

How did Weezynot get to the line once?! Surely Posey tried to clothesline him at least once...The C's had a bucketload of fouls. NONE of them were on D West going to the rim?! And who is this Leon Powe kid? Can he come play in N.O? And how do we losewhenwe only turn it over 7 times? I'm so confused...

Boston announcers should be fired by the NBA. Did you hear them yesterday, it was ridiculous. One guy "Bonzi Wells got 8 steals last game, but he is not known as a good defender" Other guy" I guess he was really guarding Peirce all the loose balls were just going to him" One guy " Hornets beat Boston last game" Other guy " They were lucky, Boston was just trying to experiment with Cassel and Brown" Then it was a whole KG, Peirce love fest. Also, KG is out of his mind crazy, he is also very overrated on defense. Boston is also a very overrated team. the refs handed them that win yesterday. i mean Once Rivers got the T everything went their way. west had 3 offensive fouls on 3 straight possesions. Has that ever happned???

You got to hand it to Boston, they shot the lights out tonight. Although, it sounds good that I didn't have to listen to the Boston announcers, being at a local bar and all. But that said, the assist goes to the refs tonight for totally blowing a five minute stretch that turned the game around. Had I been at the game, it would have called for a good "Get off your knees ref, you're blowing the game!" yell. Unfortunately, as opposed to recent nights, the Hornets weren't able to overcome this bias. So it's on to Toronto. They can't think of anything else now.

lol at anyone thinking bonzi is a good defender. he's been a part of your team for what? 10 games and you come away thinking he is a good defender? lol! he's slow as hell on the defensive end, and he gambles for steals. also to the idiot who said kg is overrated on defense. well you are an idiot. i have been terroized by that athletic freak for over 10 years. he can defend every postion. put him on point guard and he'll get a steal or a block. its ridiculous. ask any portland player over the years. he is amazing. kg btw is largely known for being the best pick and roll defender in the entire league. i bet chris paul uses the pick and roll a lot since he handles the ball so much. he two games the c's played against Portland this year, i think kg was getting back from injury, so we didn't get embarrassed. unlike you guys. how about defending rondo? lol. we lossed though, but we didn't go bananas. its like losing to the spurs. you have to move on an realize they are great teams. and don't say the c's are complainers. what did half your team do when they played in the rose garden this year. get technicals and get kicked out! tyson can barley handle joel pryzbilla! lol. don't judge another team for complaining, when your team does it a lot as well. you ain't the saintly Toronto raptors or even the utah jazz. your team get technicals a lot!
