Ryan's busy today, so we're lacking his positional analysis ahead of the Miami game this evening. Here's my abbreviated version:
Point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward, center and bench: advantage Hornets.
Yeah, the Heat are that bad. They've lost 15 of 17 coming into this one, and have managed to score an average of just 72 points in their past three games. Dwyane Wade has shut it down for the season, and the team consists mostly of D-League call-ups right now, with names like Daequan Cook, Joel Anthony and Stephane Lasme seeing plenty of court time.
Likely starting for Miami will be the following five:
PG: Chris Quinn
SG: Ricky Davis
SF: Kasib Powell
PF: Earl Barron
C: Mark Blount
If the Hornets lose to that bunch, Byron Scott will spontaneously combust.

Game info...
Hornets (W-L): 51-22
Heat (W-L): 13-61
Game Time: 6:30pm Central.
TV: CST locally, League Pass elsewhere.
Radio: KMEZ 102.9 FM in New Orleans and WIBR 1300-AM in Baton Rouge.
Linkage: At the Hive: Q&A with Crazy from the Heat | AP game preview | Crazy from the Heat | Chris Paul climbs to number one in NBA.com's MVP race
Here's hoping the Hornets can beat the crap out of the Heat tonight, our starters get some rest and guys like Hilton Armstrong and Julian Wright get a whole bunch of minutes.
Comments welcome as always. I'll be checking in throughout the game later. Oh, and me and a few buddies will probably head to the airport afterwards to welcome the Hornets back from the road trip. If anyone else is in the area and would like to join us, let me know.
[UPDATE] Hornets turn it on late, beat the Heat 106-77.

boston held the Heat to 17 field goals FOR THE ENTIRE GAME, a record for least amount of field goals since the shot clock era! as a raptor fan, in our last game against the charlotte bobcats, in charlotte, the raps had 17 consecutive field goalds in the first quarter! lol it says a lot really. well, Paul Pierce was right, the Miami Heat are a bunch of dleaguers. seconldy, the raps can score like crazy, while the bobcats aren't great defensively. and lastly, the best defensive team really belongs to the Boston Celtics - so when they blew you out in Boston, well, don't worry, they do that to everybody. luckily, you won't face them in the playoffs, unless you get to the finals. i'm rooting for ya. way to go to morris. great game last night! btw, last nights game is why ppl don't take the magic seriously. i thought ppl were crazy for that, but now i agree. you guys handed them the game basically in the first quarter. the obviously don't have that hunger to bury teams like the pistons and the celtics do in their conference. heck those magic can lose to philly, toronto or washington -teams that are either very young or injury prone.

Good: We're not the Bucks (the Heat's only 2 wins in March) and their roster reads more like a hospital manifest. Bad: Everyone expects us to win this game. Lets just hope we don't decide to play to the level of our competition and let Miami hang around. Put them out of their misery early. Ugly: If we lose this game, which I don't expect us to do, this entire road trip will be a failure.

Haha, whatever happens, just remember Utah's lost to Miami, Minnesota (twice), and the Clippers!

I got an idea. I think the Heat should concede this game to the Hornets. And instead of broadcasting the game, they should fly the Honeybees out to Miami to broadcast a pickup game against the Heat Dance Team. I know that I would crack a few brewskis, kick back, and watch that one!

Amen, Mikey. I'd be all for that. I'm thinking they should replace the court with a big trampoline and gave each girl a pillow. 3... 2... 1... FIGHT!

Actually, it's official. Realizing that Detroit beat Minnesotalast nightafter deactivating its three all-stars, Byron has decided to insert the starting line-up of Hilton, Bowen, Julian, and Bonzi, with Birdman running the point, just to see if he really is that athletic.

Wow. Gil was talking about CP using spin on an underhanded/sidearm bounce pass. I think the kid is actually incorporating bowling techniques into his game...

Up 12 after the first quarter. I like how we started out driving everything inside. Tyson's showing some moves down low.

Only 13 at the half, which isn't great since they had 12 after one, but TC is putting on a show.

Yeah, we gave up 27 in that quarter, shit-loads on free-throws. The refs are calling it pretty tight, save for that time CP shoved a guy out of bounds on the break. I'm hoping we come out and put this well and truly to bed in the third quarter. The lead needs to be 20+ entering the fourth.

Funny, Chandler 8 for 8, easy to do that when they're all dunks. That dunk to end the half was vicious. Time to stop messing with this team and just step on their throat, and crush them in the 3rd. CP already got his steal, tyson got his dunks, just get them out and healthy. And CP would never have tried that spinning bounce pass against a stronger team. That was funny. This is almost like a Harlem Globetrotter game. Just have some fun... Off to enjoy the 2nd half. btw... Those dancers up top of this post are HOT!

Yeah, this is pissing me off. There's no way our starters should have to play the fourth quarter against a team like this, but it's heading that way.
