The Hornets are in Minneapolis this evening, hoping to bounce back from their ugly loss to Utah by beating up on the hapless Timberwolves. A franchise-best 55th win should be a reality by night's end.

Bits and pieces...
Hornets (W-L): 54-23
Timberwolves (W-L): 19-58
Game Time: 7:00pm Central.
TV: CST locally, League Pass elsewhere.
Radio: KMEZ 102.9 FM in New Orleans and WIBR 1300-AM in Baton Rouge.
Linkage:

Yeah, so, I want a blowout. Our guys should be pissed after last night, and the shots will hopefully be dropping much better. Let's get 66 points in a half tonight.
Comments welcome. I'll be checking in throughout this one.
[UPDATE] Hornets win like they should, 122-90.

Thanks. I figured people would rather look at some chicks than some Timberwolf they'd never heard of.

You know, just for that, I was going to post the hottest T-Wolf I could find. .......... And then I went to their roster. And, well, yeah. In addition to losing a lot, that is one unfortunate-looking basketball team. Damn.

Too bad we lost last night. I was hoping we wouldn't lose one game anymore and we could go for 60 wins. Oh well. 59 anyone???

I wonder what the record for most alley-oops in a quarter between two players is...

Up 2 at the half. CST are talking about poor D, but I don't think it was that bad save for the first six minutes or so. The T-Wolves were knocking down contested shots, but they've cooled a little. The only thing we're really doing wrong on defense is not boxing out and getting every board. Our offense has looked better though. Chris is dishing well, but his shooting looks as bad as last night.

Wow. 41 points in a quarter. That will bust a game open.

Looks like CP3 got his mojo back- thank God. I'm also pretty sure the T-Wolves are playing a Klingon at power forward.

And it looks like the Bees will have several more points in the second half tonight than they had in the entire GAME last night. Don't know if that makes me feel any better...or worse...

hopefully the spurs lose tonight to the suns. keeping us a 2 games ahead of them, and also two games ahead of the lakers who are idle. we were 1 ahead of the spurs before tip off and 1.5 ahead of the lakers before tip off.

i don't think the spurs will get by us for the number 1 seed, but i think the lakers can. we play them friday, but they play tomorrow against the clippers - easy win for them. should they win, we are only 1.5 ahead of them right? we then play the lakers on the road, so if we lose that one, we are only 0.5 ahead of them...meaning we have to win the rest of the games - we have sacremento and dallas as two of our last games! yikes! thank god the lakers have san antonio - but they play at home!! winning in Sacramento i think on a back to back and then dallas as our last game will be tough. i guess, if they win out, will we be 0.5 ahead of them? is that possible?

Well, at the close of play tonight, we will have played in one less game than Los Angeles. If they win out, and we win every game save the Laker one, I believe we would finish the season one game in front of them. If they run the table, and we drop the L.A. game and another one, L.A. would claim the first seed, by virtue of the tiebreaker. Oh god, it's so complicated.

Yeah, it's complicated, I don't know how it will shake out. I do know though that there are no half-game leads at the end of the season. It all rounds out.

People can come here and hype Kobe all they want, so long as they give reasonable arguments for why they think he's more deserving of MVP than Chris Paul. A good civilized discussion is always welcome. What's gonna bug me are the idiots that come along and say "PAUL SUXX. I'VE SEEN HIM MIS FREE-THROW AND KOBE DA MAMBA WAS BORN FIRST SO HE SHUDD BE MVP, DON'T CARE WHAT U SAY." Wait for it.

Oh yeah, there will be rampant Laker stupidity. It'll probably start tomorrow and run through the weekend.
