The Hornets will try end their 14-game losing streak in Dallas when they take on the Mavericks in Game 4 tonight. New Orleans currently leads the series 2-1, and a win this evening would give them the opportunity to close it out back home on Tuesday.

Let's hope that Chris Paul and David West can knock down those open looks tonight, that Tyson Chandler keeps his cool and that everyone stays out of foul trouble and keeps Dallas off the free throw line. We need this one, fellas. Big difference between 3-1 and 2-2.
Let's go, Hornets.
[UPDATE] Hornets snap that streak real good, beat the Mavs 97-84. New Orleans now leads the series 3-1. Game 5 is Tuesday in N.O.

Just a quickthanks to you lads for the awesomeness that is Hornets247. I can'timagine the work involved in scouring the mess of the interweb for tasty Bees-realted quotes every day, not to mention the previews/recaps/pop culture education that keeps us entertained and informed. So Ron and Ryan - here'sa Hugo sized, Honeybee scented thanks for the hard yards. Rock and roll. Oh, yeah. GO BEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, saltandcarbon. I appreciate the kind words. Maintaining this site takes up a good chunk of time each day but it makes it much more worthwhile when I know people are reading and they care enough to leave comments. So thanks to all you guys for keeping us motivated.

Average start. Decent looks on offense, but we look overwhelmed energy-wise. Although it doesn't look like something we can't overcome. Let's see how the reserves do.

I'm not saying there are uncalled fouls here, but I've seen the ball mysteriously change directions several times coming out of a Hornet's hand. Oh, and Pargo just got shoved going to the basket and no call. Yeah.

Yes. Apparently the young woman in the second row who clearly mouthed "Oh Come On" on the foul on Peja just now, doesn't realize that Peja rarely airballs it from eight feet. But at least she had the common courtesy to supply us with an ample cleavage shot. So there's that.

OMG. Did you see the size of that woman's beer in the front row?! Everything is bigger in Texas!

Looking pretty good at the half. Outshooting Dallas across the board. The only reason they are still in it is rebounding. I understand Tyson has been hesitant because of the two fouls he's nursing. Hopefully he will pick it up in the second half- start protecting the paint and cleaning the glass. Go Hornets!

The drinks were, I believe, 8 bucks a pop during the regular season 2 years back in American Airlines Centre. You know, just for your information. We'd better play more intelligently in the second half, since there seems to be some foul issues (DX...really?! Come on now) and problems in the low post (methinks it's Damp's contract year). Also, do we still not have an answer to Brandon Bass? How're we going to get past Utah, if the respective teams get that far, because CBooz >>> Bass.

Tyson is really starting to piss me off. No interior defense- and he doesn't even TRY to get to the glass. Hell, I'd rather se Ely at this point- and I never thought I'd see myself type that.

Okay. Going into the 4th, CP has a steely gaze, and we're up 10. I like our chances.

If Kidd isn't suspended a game for that, Stern should be fired.

Damn! Did you see that replay? If Pargo didn't get his hands down, he could have broken his neck!

I don't think that last 3-point play by CP was an actual foul by Devean, but when they showed a shot of the bench, one of our blond Mavs fans looked like she was going to murder our bench. Just some soapbox talking here, but though it's never fun to see your team lose, I'm very disgusted by the Mavs fans who left with ~7 minutes left. They might be rich and need to work tomorrow (hence the game's value holds no significance), but those are the bandwagon fans who will denounce said team if things don't go their way. I'm sick of them. New Orleans ones notwithstanding.

I hate people who leave early. Not to mention... it's possible this is their LAST home game of the season, and the last time they see their team. That's not worth sitting around for 3 minutes?

Great job by the Hornets of bouncing back big time. The bench was tremendous, especially Julian Wright. He was so active and had tons of energy that he gave the Hornets a big time lift early in the 2nd quarter when we were down.

Will be very ironic if the person Dallas gave up so much to trade for, isn't even playing in the elimination game. Hornets in 5, lets wrap this up and prepare for the Spurs, maybe the Suns can extend that series and wear them down a little more.

My pops loves JJ Barea. Unless Avery has given up all hope, I expect some PT for him Tuesday. And ticktock, after your statement, I feel even worse that they didn't stay. Of course, you're going to have bandwagon fans everywhere (I may be guilty at times), but it still makes me disgusted. They should enjoy something that very few get to experience in their lifetime. Placing your interest in wins rather than the organization is a surefire way to get disappointed 99% of the time. But anyway, cup half full! Let's hope CP doesn't mention 'Finally, I broke my 0-6 streak in Dallas', because that would mean he lied to us about not caring about the past, eh? Don't trick us CP!

Whoo! Man that was a blast. Sorry I forgot to link you guys up, ticktock. I was in a rush out of here, went to the watch party at Gordon Biersch for the game. The streak is broken!!! Great game. I was loving it down there. Should be interesting to see if Kidd is suspended for Game 5.
