Tomorrow, Byron Scott will be officially announced as the NBA's 2007-08 Coach of the Year. John Reid of the Times-Picayune broke the news...
- Before [tomorrow's] Game 5 at the New Orleans Arena, where the Hornets can eliminate the Mavericks with a victory, Scott will be presented with the NBA's Coach of the Year award.

On behalf of everyone here at Hornets247, and Jerry Stackhouse, I'd like to congratulate Byron on the award. Very well deserved, Coach.
[UPDATE] The official announcement is up at Hornets.com. Looks like Byron trounced the competition.

Hooray for Byron Scott! He deserves Coach of the Year! He deserved it back in New Jersey but was fired instead. According to an ESPN article: "...no one wanted to give him the credit. All of the whispers said it was Eddie Jordan who was responsible for the X's and O's, that Scott barely put in any preparation at all. He was fired the year after the second Finals appearance, when the players bailed on him.;" http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=adande_ja&page=Scott-080404 Well, take that, Jason Kidd!... And take that, New Jersey Nets! You didn't deserve him!!!

I'm not going to say he's the best coach this year when you've got a point like CP, but certainly he showed strong capabilities at the helm. Congratulations Coach! Oh, and thank goodness Doc Rivers didn't win, because guess who intentionally lost games last season to get a high draft pick? Sure wasn't Coach Scott.

congrads on scott ... now back to the game at hand tomorow night ... mavs still have a chance to steal one over there, not givin much hope but if howard stops shooting the ball and drivin to the hole, stackhouse DOESNT step on the court, and avery coaches the game the way he does in the regular season, i see dirk and JET takin over and mavs pullin off the upset setting up a game 6 .. GO MAVSS!!!

Congrats Coach Scott!! ....on a side note, anyone else watching Joe Johnson of the ATL Hawks complete dominate the Celtics. @ Mavs Fan, actually I'd like to see Jerry Shithouse play 48 minutes.I know that won't happen, but a man can dream, can't he.
