Game 3 of Hornets-Spurs takes place in San Antonio this evening. Our Hornets took the first two games of the series in New Orleans, leaving the defending champs desperately in need of a win tonight.

Essential info...
Game Time: 8:30pm Central.
TV: ESPN nationwide.
Radio: KMEZ 102.9 FM in New Orleans and the super-fantastic WIBR 1300-AM in Baton Rouge.
Linkage:

- Our latest news wrap
- All-NBA teams: Paul makes first, Duncan makes second, Ginobili makes third.
- No sellout in San Antonio? Apparently there's "hundreds of tickets still available" for tonight's game.
- Spurs blogs: 48 Minutes of Hell | Pounding the Rock | Project Spurs
Looking forward to this one. I can't see it being an easy win for either team. The Spurs are too proud to get blown out on their own floor, while our guys are just too damn good to let the series flip completely. We might be in for a nail-biter.
I'll be at the Gordon Biersch watch party this evening in downtown New Orleans. Hope you can make it. I'll be the guy dressed only in teal body paint... or regular clothes. I haven't decided yet.
[UPDATE] Parker and Ginobili shake loose for 62 as the Spurs take Game 3, 110-99.

Just wondering if anybody in the Oklahoma City area gets together to watch the games? Name the place. Ron, you and Ryan are doing a great job. I'm sure you guys will get a bonus at the end of the season. Go Hornets!

I know it's not recap-time, but one thing I have been impressed by our bees is interior scoring. Granted, CP is 'imposing his will' on just about everybody, but if our shot doesn't fall, I still think we have a chance; which is the one weakness I feared from the Hornets coming into the post-season. Anyway, just 2 more over this hump. It's the elite teams that win on the road. Geaux Hornets!

Breaking News! Eva Longoria starting in place of Tony Parker. In a truly crafty - and undoubtably risky - coaching move, coack Greg Poppovich has elevated his French star's favourably-proportioned wife to start as point guard for the on-the-ropes Spurs. Pop commented that "they had to try something" and cited distracting the Hornets with dangerous curves might be their only shot. He conceded that Hornets star Chris Paul probably wouldn't fall for the ruse, saying "that kid can flat out stare". But Pop was hopeful that with the rest of the Hornets dumbstruck and the game being reduced to four on one, they may have a fighting chance.

Watching the Cavs/Celtics I now remember why I mostly quit watching the NBA after the MJ and the Bulls demise. That is some of the worst basketball I've ever seen and Detroit/Orlando isn't much better.

The Spurs are playing the best they can play and the Hornets areahead at the half. Spurs won't be able to keep up their incredibly hot shooting the whole game and the Hornets are getting almost any shot they want. Even if they lose tonight, the Hornets will win this series barring injury.

Why is Ely getting playing time? The man is a walking disaster. Fouls, turnovers and lame assed turnaround jumpers. Give me Hilton any day of the week.

I was happy with the effort right up until that piece of shit finish. We stopped rebounding. Stopped playing defense. D-West bricked three free throws in a row. Where the hell did that come from?

I feel about this game like I felt about game 3 in Dallas. I am not upset or angry. I think we had a chance until San Antonio started hitting shots and we just started missing them. I expect us to clean that up and take game 4.

i'm not overly concerened either. if we would have pulled that off that could have been the best single performance by a player in the history of the playoffs. what a game.

Pretty decent game until the end when the effort wasn't there. Kudos to the Spurs, they played great, hitting the shots they were supposed to make and protecting their house. Again, problems stemmed from our defense. Lack of rotational intelligence killed us, but credit goes to the Spurs for spreading the floor incredibly well and finding the open man. JuJu and Pargo were unable to stick to a specific gameplan (switch and cover man-man, PLEASE), allowing at least one player open for many drives. Still no answer to Ginobili. On offense, they did limit CP from involving the team; big credit to Bowen on Peja. That really hurt us in terms of spreading the floor. I expect a few off-ball screens to get mismatches on Peja next game, hopefully freeing him up from Bowen and allowing some open looks, or quick fakes to get Bowen into (hopefully) foul trouble. Again, DX was our only player in the post, with mixed results, and that hurt us too when shots weren't falling (Where's The Pope?!). We need to make sure to pass the ball more effectively beyond the arc when they double. Like Dirk, DX wasn't really effective forcing shots from double teams, so hopefully he'll have some help next game. More hustle, bees! Geaux Hornets!

WHAT A GREAT GAME!!! The Hornets were on the verge of pulling away in the 3rd quarter, but give the Spurs credit, they made enough plays to hang in there and keep it close, then won the 4th quarter easily when NO went through that dry period in the middle of the quarter. Regardless,NO gave the Spurs everything they could handle tonight and the Spurs played probably their best game of the year when they had to. I still thinkNO will win game 4 as the Spurs will cool off andNO will at some point of the game build an insurmountable lead ifthey keep playing offense like we did tonight. Just can't say enough about NO and SA tonight, you could just feel the intensity and hatredof those two teams through the TV set. Guys on both teams were making great play after play and you could see just how bad each team wants it. Paul vs Parker alone was worth watching. Definitely one of the best played, entertainingbasketball games I have seen(even w/ the late 4th quarter fade by the Bees) Makes you appreciate good bball after that piece of crap that was onbefore it. Definitely proud of the Hornets even with the loss and I still say we will be seeing the Lakers in a little over one week.
