I'm finding it strange that almost nobody online has mentioned the two new players the Hornets have picked up for training camp. First I heard of it was from Roland in the comments here yesterday, and I've since heard that the two newbies were getting schooled by Ryan Bowen at the New Orleans Arena earlier this week.
So allow me to break the ice and deliver a little more info on the newest Hornets...
Courtney Sims
Center | 6-11 | 245 lbs | 24 years old | Michigan
This guy has three games of NBA experience, having latched on with the Pacers briefly last season. He spent most of the year balling in the D-League, where he averaged 15.6 points and 6.4 rebounds in 21.9 minutes per.
Jared Jordan
Point guard | 6-2 | 190 lbs | 23 years old | Marist
This guy racked up billions of assists in college, got drafted 45th overall by the Clips in 2007, played summer league, got traded to the Knicks, played preseason, got cut, then spent last season playing ball in Lithuania. Most recently he played five games for the Suns in the Vegas summer league, where he averaged 3.2 points and 2.6 assists in 14.6 minutes per.
If anyone has any additional info on these guys, please share in the comments.

Fun fact: Jorda's alma mater, Marist, is also the Dunkin Dutchman (aka Rik Smits) alma mater.

There were a lot of articles celebrating Jared Jordan prior to the 2007 draft. Most of the basically called Jared Jordan the best playmaker anywhere ever. Then they grudgingly admitted that his physical skills were probably not NBA-level. I don't expect much.I know nothing about Sims.

Jared Jordan (J5) is the truth and will be my back up this year.

Well, we have 16 people on the roster, so you know 1 of these guys is getting cut. Byron likes 14, so maybe both. I think Jordan is toast as we already have 2 potential CP back-ups; and Sims, unless he shows something special (he didn't in Vegas) will be gone too.

I personally know Jared...He is a great playmaker...One of the greatest playmakers I have seen in college...many people compare his talent to Steve Nash...How well was Nash know are spoke of before he started for the Mavs?...Many said Nash didn't and still doesn't have the physicalassests (speed, jumping, and strength)or skill to play in the NBA but he manage to win 2 MVPs. He has the potential to be a great backup and maybe a human highlight starter.
