Let me step aside from the previewing and the preseasoning for a minute and give you guys some quick updates regarding this here site...
New site coming soon
We've been working hard for a long time now on a new and much improved version of Hornets247, and at long last we're ready for launch... almost. We've got a few more features to add and a whole bunch of testing to do, but we plan to have it all up and running before the regular season tips off. Should be fun. We'll post another update with more info in a few weeks, before we make the switch.
Season launch party
To celebrate the start of what should prove to be a kick-ass season, we're organizing a kick-ass watch party for the Hornets' first game on October 29. It's all going down at Handsome Willy's bar, located at 218 S. Robertson Street in New Orleans, pretty close to the Arena. Here's a map. We also set it up as a Facebook event, so if you're on there you can RSVP and invite your coolest friends to do the same (no inviting of the sucky friends please thanks). We'll have cheap drink and free food at the party, plus some cool giveaways. Hornets-Warriors tips at 9:30pm Central but we'll be getting warmed up starting at 7pm. It's gonna be a good time.
We're on Facebook
While posting that event on Facebook, we went ahead and created a Hornets247 page on there, too. You know, just for gits and shiggles. So now you can become a fan of this site and all your Facebook stalkers will know about it and think more highly of you. Good deal.
Dariusz Ejkiewicz has also posted some of his great works on our page there, so be sure to check those out.
T-Shirts
And finally, we've set up a Hornets247 store over at Zazzle. Nothing but a few t-shirts for sale on there to start, but I think you'll agree that they're pretty cool:
Alright, that's all I've got for now. Plenty more good stuff in the pipeline. Massive thanks to everyone for dropping by regularly and supporting the site. You guys keep us motivated to make Hornets247 as good as it can possibly be.

Cool shirts. Who drew them? (Tyson's basket should also be a CEILING FAN.)

I agree, should have been a ceiling fan. Anyway, on the watching party, why hold it like 2 or 3 blocks from the arena? If I'm fighting traffic and paying to park I'm going to the damn game lol If I'm going to watch it on tv I personally don't want to enter the cluster F that is the traffic creating police. Last year I literally had those people for 1 game (Houston game to be exact) make me drive from the offramp that puts you right at the parking garage from the interstate, all the way around to the front of the dome, then down, between the shopping center and the dome, BEHIND the arena, and finally into the garage (which was about 20ft from the offramp I originally exited on). I didn't get to my seat till mid 2nd quarter it was such a mess and I left way early.

Why doesn't enter work any more to create space? That was like 3 separate things when I typed it. look here --> <-- I hit enter, twice between > <I hope the comments are being updated on the new site lol

That Peja is awesome Ron, did you draw it? Also, Chris Paul's first name is apparently not Tyson...

@ ticktock: Yeah, wish I had thought of a ceiling fan for Tyson. Oh well, maybe next time. @ Juncti: I should have been more clear: The Hornets are playing in Oakland on October 29, so there won't be any game traffic in New Orleans. The first home game is November 1. Not sure what's up with the spaces. It's been working fine for me. What browser are you using? The comments will definitely work better on the new site. @ atthehive: I have the drawing ability of autistic fish, so no, I didn't draw those. All credit goes to some talented dude in Argentina.

Okay who got NBA 2k9 today?? Everything its great on it in my opinion and better than NBA Live, but there's one HUGE "flaw" that pisses me off. Inside & post baskets are WAY too easy to play. The Big Men on the other teams always shoot 80+% and its really annoying. I can jump with Chandler & West at the same time and they still always make it. Other than that, its great.

Just to give you guys a heads up....the Hornets might also be hosting an official watch party on the 29th for the regular season opener. There will be a series of events all week long leading up to our home opener on Nov. 1....stay tuned for more details! And on a side note, did anyone notice the announced attendance at our first home pre-season game was more than 14K? Unbelievable! More than 10,500 season tickets sold--woo-hoo!!

@ TheBalcony: That's cool, I'd be surprised if the Hornets didn't have an official watch party the same night. Between that one and ours, we'll get the whole city jumping.
