Tonight the Hornets are back to where it all began almost exactly twenty years ago: Charlotte, North Carolina.
Little time for reminiscing though as Chris Paul and team look to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Hawks on Wednesday. We need to flex muscle and kick ass from tip to buzzer. I wanna see Ryan Bowen getting breakaways in the fourth quarter.
Game gets tipped a little after 6 Central. Feel free to go nuts with your thoughts on the existence of Mike James in the comments.

I think his existence is hampering my happiness.

Wow. I think this is, like, a low point in Bob & Gil broadcasting moments.

Embarrassing. Peja looked good early, but that is about it. No calls for us, but Tyson already has four and Posey three. Coach just got a technical for explaining to the refs that calls should go both ways.

The refs are bad. Chris Paul is passive. Nobody but Peja is dropping anything. Horrible possesions from everybody who doesn't start. This is how you are down 12 to Charlotte at half.

This is woeful. CP looks like he wants someone else to step up before he gets going. West is forcing it out there. Guys like Butler and Brown are taking it to the basket when there's no lane there. Ugly ugly basketball.

I'm not worried. This is the NBA, where everyone makes a run.

And just like that, CP notches ~4 assists, and we go on a run. Whodathunk?
Let's hope we can pull more than a bunny out of the hat tonight.

14 pts by cp3 in the 3rd. He'll play the whole 4th. 5 points is in no way insurmountable.

I'm worried. We've pretty much sucked for 7 straight quarters now, lucky that Chris Paul has been able to carry us for a couple. Even if we win this game, which I expect us to do, we're not looking good at all.

First time I've seen CP swim in the paint really comfortable tonight, and it results in 2 easy points for Hilton. Chaos. I love it.

Niall, I agree. A win tonight doesn't erase the offense droughts that have emerged.

Did DX tell one of the refs to fuck himself before the game, because he's getting no calls.

We deserved to lose that one. I expected a lot more after the loss on Wednesday.

Well, after telling the ref to fuck himself one too many times at our last home game, TT6 elbowing me and hissing to shut up because there were kids in the row in front of us, I'm trying to keep zen about this one. Did we suck? Sure. Does that make two in a row? Sure. Will we have to hear wise-cracks from Jazz fans tomorrow because Mo elbowed Wallace in the nuts? Obviously ("Chris Paul taught him that move from his college years!!! He's a dirty player!!! And the Hornets lost!!! And we don't even have Deron and we're winning [followed by foaming at the mouth].)
Oh well. It comes down to 16 games at the end of the year. And this won't be one of them.

Nah. It'll be the one that loses us the tiebreaker to the Lakers.

Definite concordance with Niall. We didn't lose, we failed. 'A championship team doesn't have a 21-7 quarter', 'doesn't relinquish fourth quarter leads', 'doesn't lose to the Bobcats', etc. Tons of things you could pick out this game, but since I didn't watch most of the game, I'm not going to b* and moan.
I have, however, always been weary with jumpshooting teams for this reason: inconsistency. Our team has no real low post threat, and when jumpers don't fall, what do the coaches always teach? Attack the basket. We could also use JuJu's (wait for it) chaotic play sooner than later.
Mike James watch day 5: Not so much that he was terrible as our team was terrible. You can't expect a reserve to shine if your team doesn't put him into a position to do anything short of a miracle. [+0]
Oh, off topic: I still don't like that revised Hugo logo. I'm only going to buy memorabilia with the fleur-de-bee.
