Okay, I'm being lazy today and I'm not going to produce a proper game preview. Something to do with playing Fallout 3 after the game until late last night and stuff. The Rockets are 5-4, and we are 5-3. Both teams played last night - the Hornets winning against Portland, the Rockets losing to San Antonio.
Rafer Alston isn't playing due to a suspension, which is nice because he'd spend the whole game chirping at his betters and generally irritating everyone. Mike James isn't playing because he's actually worse than Rafer Alston.
So far this season, Houston's defense has been crushing as usual,(97.6 points given up per 100 posessions, 4th in the league) but their offense has been sputtering and inconsistent. (99.5 points per 100 posessions, 24th in the league) The Hornets haven't been up to expectations yet this season, posting an 8th best offense(105.4 per 100) and the 16th best defense.(102.4 per 100) Both of those are well below what the Hornets produced last year.

- Blazer's Edge recap of Last Night's game. I love their optimism. It also still feels odd to be a team that another team's fans feel good to not quite beat.
Enjoy. I do the recap tonight, as Ron is off in Houston watching the game. I think he's doing it just to rub it in to me that he gets to watch the Hornets not only at home - but in other cities too.

watching the game on my laptop, with my study material for exams in front of me, in a crappy country town in Australia. you americans have it so lucky... "road trip to houston!!!". i just got up and made myself a coffee over here. just think of me if you ever think you have a disadvantage with the hornets or the nba for that matter.
happy alston isnt playing... but then again i do love it when carlton banks makes him so frustrated he has to attack allstars.

Trust me Johnny, "road trip to houston" merely equates to "road trip to a smoggy, humid city". It's likely akin to your crappy country town, except it's got more obese people.
I'm probably not gonna watch the game, so I'll cap Mike James preemptively: Mike James Watch Day 9: 5 minutes of PT. 1-3, 1 AST, 1 TO. (+0)

haha thanks for that insight but at least a live viewing of the hornets is past the humidity and obesity.

Actually, I predict Mike James will follow up his best game of the year with one as equally good.

Down 12 at Halftime...same issues with this team....do they like being outplayed by every top team they play? There so many holes in this teams makeup and they are being exposed.

Not sure it's that. Our guys are just missing the shots they usually make. I can't really pin it down what their problem is.

LOL johnny. That would've brought some life to the game.
They need to do some soul searching and fast. I'm lost for words on the struggles of this team. The team is flawed and its showing. They are becoming easy to defend and its quite sad.

Terrible performance by the Hornets again. The only positive I can take from this game is that our home crowd is far superior to that of the Rockets. One of the loudest cheers of the night came when they advertised a Coldplay concert during a second half break. Almost everybody had left by the final buzzer.
But the big story tonight is our continued suckage. I'll write more about all that on Monday.
