I'm not a religious man, but please oh please oh please god don't let us lose to the Thunder tonight. Amen.
Game tips a little after 8:30pm, late start because ESPN are doing the televisual thing. I'll be checking in on the comments regularly throughout the evening.

Denham Springs is too damn far for me to go. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I'd expect Ernst's to be showing almost every game, and Gordon Biersch are probably still doing the same.

We better not lose tonight, lose tonight and we might as well pack things up and call it a season.
I can't ever foresee saying that the NBA Champs lost to the Bobcats, Kings (minus multiple starters, and the Thunder.

It's not too far fetched for the Hornets to play average ball in 2008 and turn it up in 2009 in time for the post season.
....right?

That's not too far fetched at all. It's pretty much what I'm hoping for actually.

I hope I get a chance to pick apart the OKC announcers sometime this year.

Are you guys watching ESPN? Jalen Rose's contribution to the Knicks/Bucks analysis was that the guys who are wearing #4 and #23 are going to have to get new numbers in 2010 when Bosh and Lebron show up.

...and his analysis of the Wolves/Celtics is that he likes the Minnesota home court and that the Wolves are going to get a lottery pick this year. His partner-in-crime is kind of calling him out for it.

Is the crowd standing because it's the Hornets or do they do that too?

Yeah, like Jalen Rose is totally connected. Obviously Cavs and Raps have to make moves to keep these guys, but nothing is done. Shoot, if the Greeks give Lebron $50 mil a year, he's going overseas.
Even more distrubing, Vince "I quit on the Raps and betrayed the very principles of the NBA by not only not trying but admitting not trying and averring that I suck balls" Carter just hit an impossible shot to go to overtime against his old team. That is Karmic betrayal.

Are OKCers watching this game wishing they had the Hornets instead of the Sonics? And is anyone from Seattle watching this game hoping we destroy them?

Everyone, opinions please: Who's the best announcer in the NBA?

It's a tie. Gil and Bob, of couse. Other than them, Jeff Van Gundy. And as a post script, if Hubie Brown says "New Or-leeens" one more time I'm going to stab myself in the eye.

You know you're playing OKC when... Two Hilton Armstrong dunks are shown as the highlights heading into a timeout in the first quarter.
Hubie's my vote for best announcer, despite the "New Or-leeeens."

Aw man, I was rooting for the Raps after Vince hit that shot. That's really gotta hurt happening in Toronto.
Nice first Q for the Hornets. My only complaint is that David West is refusing to pass the ball.

Yeah, and did anyone see the cheap shot that took down O'Neal in Toronto? Should be a suspension. Completely purposeful.
As for our game, how'd y'all like that offensive foul on Westbrook? Yeah, hey rook, I have an idea. Why don't you try to school one of the premier defensive stoppers in the League? Yeah. Better luck next time.

This is like, the team is not clicking. The coaching staff goes, "You know what we need? Group therapy."
Playing the OKC Thunder = group therapy. For freeeee.

I hope so. Another blowout is in order to make me feel better about this team.
How about Ryan Bowen? Watching him constantly moving and hustling out there in the fourth quarter, I'm wondering how this is his first action this season. We've been missing a lot of what he brings. He just hedged the pick and roll out high on D, then made it all the way back under the basket to box out his man and grab the rebound. Great stuff from him so far.
