Not as tough as you might think, actually.
Sure, the Hornets will play at Dallas, Cleveland and Detroit in a four-day span, and those three teams have a combined winning percentage of .796 this season on their home floor. In fact, the Cavs have yet to lose in Cleveland this season.
But let's look a little closer at each opponent...
- Wednesday @ Dallas: The 22-15 Mavs wrap up a 3-game trip of their own tomorrow at Denver, so we get them on the second night of a back-to-back. Dallas have already lost the first two games of their road trip, and the last time they beat a winning team at home was back on December 6 when the Hawks were in town.
- Friday @ Cleveland: This won't be easy any way you slice it, but at least we get the 29-6 Cavs on a segababa too, as they play in Chicago on Thursday evening. And while LeBron's crew are 5-2 on the second night of back-to-backs, it's worth noting that all five wins came against sub-500 teams, whereas the two losses came against the Pistons and Hawks.
- Saturday @ Detroit: This time both teams will have heavy legs; our guys will be coming off the game in Ohio, and the 22-13 Pistons will be coming off a date in OKC. Detroit have won their last five at home, but they're battling injuries to Hamilton, Stuckey and McDyess right now.

Given two complete dismal performances out of the last three games, and even the Clipper game was kinda ho-hum given they had 4 of their starting 5 out of the game, these guys better show me some fight on this road trip. Speaking of fight, at least Tyson's not facing Joel Przybilla this next week.

segababa: love it
I don't really consider this a tough road trip but given the fact that our guys don't bring it every night, it makes trips like these tougher than they should be

Interesting analysis of the road trip, Niall. I hope we go 3-0. That'd be sweet.

Don't count out the Mavs just yet. I just finished watching the Denver game and it ended with a wrong call against the Mavs. Mavs were down 17 in the 3rd and were up 4 with a minute left, then just pooped. But, we appeared tired down the stretch; combined with a Mavs back-back, is to the bees advantage.

"Segababa" is the Rick James of basketball acronyms.
I predict 2-1.
Surprisingly easy win over Dallas tomorrow, another nailbiter of a win in Cleveland, and another dud in Detroit.
Can't wait for some Monday afternoon basketball in the Hive. That's my favorite regular season game of the year.

I can't take any credit for segababa. I think I first saw it on 48 Minutes of Hell last season.
