It's the home opener for the Hornets this evening, and there will be lots of costumes and excitement and free t-shirts. And hopefully a much better performance than what we were treated to on Wednesday.
The Sacramento Kings will be the team in the cross hairs. Yes, they are expected to suck this season, but as Ryan mentioned in his game preview earlier today, they're capable of getting hot and beating us with the long bombs.
Game tips a little after 7 Central. I'll try give some updates from the Arena, so stay tuned to the comments here. I'll also be jumping in every now and then with some comments at ESPN's Daily Dime Live Blog.

Uh oh. Times-Pic reporting Marcus Thornton inactive again tonight:

Byron says Thornton is "still in the learning stage. Simple as that. On both ends."

Yeah, too bad Byron can't see that he's NOT one of the three least talented players on the team (i.e. the people that should be in street clothes).

Play of the night. Peja steals the saving pass from Julian away from Bobby Brown and not only prevents him from doing something dumb, but nails the three.

Kings were only getting jumpers earlier, but their rebounding and inside scoring started to pick up around about the time Hilton Armstrong checked in.

Hey guys, just tuned in. Pleasantly surprised at JuJu's aggressiveness, so far so good stat night. Hope he keeps up his FG% and lower TOs.

Tyreke Evans ain't backing down from CP. Physical battle between those two so far.
And not missing Chandler one bit with Okafor scoring in the post like that.

Casspi was invisible until about five minutes ago. Coming alive now.

21-16 bench scoring advantage to the Kings at halftime. Nocioni has 11 by himself.
CP hasn't been himself so far, and the Hornets defense has gotten muddled a lot. Correct just one of those things in the second half and we should take this one.

For those who were able to watch both games: has Okafor changed our offensive gameplan? i.e. are there less isolation pick and rolls and more off-ball movement?

@ mark, only watched the last 5 minutes because I couldn't get a decent stream from the UK, but there was decent movement that led to Posey missing a wide-open tray. Our team assist total of 16 from 33 FG's made doesn't sound pretty however. Good to see JuJu out there in crunch time, he looks more confident with each game.

Considering CP usually gobbles 90% of the assists, a grand total of 14 assists from the team are actually pretty good. Interesting to see what Ryan/Niall will say about that stat.

Man, we squeeked by on that one. I didnt see a decent pick and roll/pop all game and I did see a sea of purple under every basket.

^ And if they can't get the chance to do it on Home court against cannon fodder like the Kings, when will they?!
