Before we get started, join me in wishing Hornets' owner George Shinn well. The team announced today that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I'm liking his attitude towards it: "This is not the first obstacle that I have had to overcome in life, but it will be another one that will be conquered."
Hornets hosting the Raptors tonight, with our guys still in search of a convincing victory this season. The Raps have started out 2-2, been busy scoring and allowing tons of points. They last played Wednesday in Toronto, beating the Pistons 110-99 behind 47 combined points from Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani.
Ike Diogu is likely to be inactive again, but keep your fingers crossed for a rookie sighting.
Game tips at 7 p.m. Central.

Does anyone know why CST does so few HD games? Their SD feed looks awful. 65 games a year and like 7 or 8 in HD doesn't make sense.
Hell, the other night on satellite the game was on NBAtv but I was forced to view the CST feed instead. Not sure if that would have been HD if dish didn't block it.

23-19 lead after Q1. Raps crowding West pretty good, packing the middle and getting out on shooters, but there are holes there if we can drive the ball. Bobby Brown is picking his shots nicely again tonight. Good team effort on the boards so far, too.

Holy ish. Steal by CP, Bobby Brown dances, CP open 3.
I should be jaded by now, but I'm always impressed by how accurate CP has developed. All we need is a little more team cohesiveness so his assist count goes back to ungodly norm.

After that three by Chris, he's now 13-of-16 from downtown this season.
WOW.

After that three by Chris, I wet my pants with glee.
Not sure what to think of with the lower AST/TO ratio this season thus far, but he's been on an offensive tear. Keep it up, young blood

It *feels* like the Hornets should be winning this game handily, but they aren't. I'll be pissed if another brilliant CP performance gets wasted. Hope they can pull away..

Gotta love Bobby Brown's speed, whatever else you think of him.
He's played smarter basketball in the Mavs game and in this one.

Agreed, Caleb. His shot selection has been much better. If he keeps playing like this, I have no problem with him getting minutes over Collison.

Well, I'd like to actually see what Collison offers before I can say that.
As for the game itself... sigh... that's all I have to say right now. Still plenty of time left though.

Nah, Byron would put them out to pasture for the next 30 games for failing to inspire a comeback *roll eyes*

That third quarter killed us. Raptors went zone and dropped a bunch of threes. Game over. At the post-game press conference now; should be interesting to hear what Byron has to say about this one.

I'm not sure what's going on anymore (especially with crap internet connection). Where's the problem stemming from? Cohesiveness? Execution? Coaching?

This would have been a good game to get the rooks in earlier in the 4th and let them play some real minutes. Instead they get about 2 minutes. Nonsense.

Not that it makes much of a difference, but the rookies were sent to midcourt with about 3:41 left on the clock, but there was no stoppage in play for almost two minutes.

Niall: and to Byron's credit, he finally, finally, finally, called a timeout. But to his detriment, he should have put them in at the 8:00 minute mark. To me that's inexcusable. Byron's problem is that he looks at bball as a streetfight. He wants tough, in shape guys, who scrap and who "earned their way." He needs to think like a chess master. You make moves regardless of the short term effect to benefit you in the long run. DBrown has no future. BBrown probably will never be anything. You don't know that about Collison and Thornton. But you know you drafted them because they could be something. They need minutes to learn. What better time then a game where your starters got knocked out in the third and are standing dead on their feet, down by 20?
Byron needs to play DC and Lil' Buckets or he's going to prove to everyone yet again that he can't develop talent.
