The Hornets got their biggest win of the season on Thursday, beating the Western Conference leading Suns in New Orleans. Tonight, the league leading Hakes come to town, fresh off a last-second win over the Rockets last night in Atlanta.
The Hawks are 11-2 on the season, currently riding a 7-game winning streak. We saw them just a week ago in Atlanta, when our guys were still within striking distance early in the fourth quarter before the Hawks got serious and blew the game open.
Atlanta have been eating their vegetables and so have no injuries to report. As for the Hornets, Chris Paul remains out for a mysterious amount of time, while Marcus Thornton has reportedly shaken off that ankle tweak and will be available tonight. As for Ike Diogu, the T-P reports that he did not practice as planned yesterday, so I guess his reevaluation didn't go well.
Game tips at 7 p.m. Central.

Which is higher: Devin Brown's shooting percentage or his entry pass percentage?

Hey Niall, got an update as to why Marks is on the inactive list again? Is it that shoulder issue?

Floyd and Bower have had quite an impact on defense.

Wow. I was partying for The Bucks big rivalry game today and didn't see the game. I got home and checked the score and saw us up 11. Can't wait to read the recap because I only saw like the last 4-5 minutes. Looking at just the box score, career day for Collison. Thorton continues to impress. Peja has another solid night.
I see D. Brown struggled right when some of us gave a little praise. Also, I'm curious to what was up with Emeka. Can't wait to see the recap on this one.
Seriously though, what must Byron Scott be thinking right now as he watches these two rookies just play unreal ball right now? I felt good about the firing and watching this team do what they are doing without the franchise, I can't help but get excited. The great thing is, most fans still think we are a low team that is due to collapse without Paul.
I will pry throw myself a party if we snag the road win tomorrow.

Every time I eat sweet potato fries during a Hornets game they get a W. It's uncanny. 1-0.

Feelin' real good about this team right now. Andthey're doin' it without CP. Unreal.
Emeka really needs to spend some time shooting free throws though.

Is anyone scared about what will happen when CP3 comes back?

@ChrisTrew: Don't go jinxing it.
@JChang: I'm scared excited-like. If CP takes D and B Brown minutes leaving Dimes and Buckets in the rotation, how mental quick is our backcourt?!?

I am loving the play of the rookies too. I am pretty sure they'll continue with cp3 back. bower is not scott. you can see it with his substitution: there is consistency and logic. he subs the players that are playing good and fit to each other.
the defense rotations and switches are great.

I am so happy for the guys for getting rewarded for not giving up. Not that I thought the majority would, but it is nice to see none the less.
I absolutely LOVE the fact that ESPN top performers section has no pic for our teams top performer, D.C.! If that doesn't say it all. Cast out to sea by the media, and hell by a lot of us on the forums, the Hornets come back with a complete new look that nobody recognizes!
Hopefully ESPN will get a fricking picture of DC soon. Maybe someone can send them a screen capture of him from their own channel's broadcast or are the waiting on him to send over an autographed glossy. LOL

great win for the hornets tonight. hawks did miss some easy shots, but the defensive rotations were great. bees were in their face all night and just much more aggressive. when was the last time we saw the team get 2 or 3 24 second violations on the defensive end?
@ryan schwan- i guess diogu didn't get a good prognosis from his dr. don't say i didnt tell you. he was damaged goods coming over and there is a possibility he may not play this season.

Wright hurt? Or just hurts the team?
Wish I could see the team while it still exists (sarcasm). We can't beat the teams in the NBA with the best record (false). Thougts on resting Chris so he doesn't get hurt and we can trade him (no one has thought this).
Sometimes it's fun to be silly (true).
Good win. The revenge factor on such short order is nice, especially considering their record. Same for Suns.
One has to consider that maybe some of this is for real and not just coach's being unfamiliar with Bower and the personnel.

I missed this one because I was sitting in the rain at a crappy college football game. Can't wait to see the recap on this game. More than a little excited about the way this team is playing. Hoping we don't fall back down to earth anytime soon.

National Media Coverage, all the writers want to report about is the negative and how this team is in turmoil. Ten days ago the biggest story to be had here was the firing of BS and his self made All-Star and Gold Medalist, reaction.
Conflicting stories from two team captains and all-stars remind you.
Who wants to write about a team who has a renewed feeling of goodness and success from who-ville, who is not being lead by a show-time laker, and winning against top conference foes. Very least a team with two Rookies playing in the wake of the Francise face being sidelined. Local media can't even hit the news worthy part of all this ten days latter with a vote of confidence and belief in this team.
Last week they had the whole team packing, reporting on BS golf outings and who was the next head coach going to be fired.
It good to see this team playing with the hand it has been dealt!!!!!!!
