The following update came from the Hornets last night:
Hornets guard Chris Paul, who has been out the past five weeks due to left knee surgery, was medically cleared to begin running at half speed yesterday.
Hornets forward James Posey missed last night's game against Denver with flu-like symptoms. He did not travel with the team to Phoenix and is out for tomorrow's game. He is questionable for Monday's game against the Clippers.
Hornets center Sean Marks will undergo right shoulder surgery on Tuesday morning and will be out the remainder of the season.
Hornets forward Peja Stojakovic, who has missed the past two games with a lower abdominal strain, will remain out for a minimum of the next 10 days.

If we can't get a couple road wins in the next week, Paul's return might be pretty meaningless in terms of the playoff chase. Let's hope we can pull out a few before then and at least give him a chance to work some magic. Not much I would enjoy more than watching CP3 come back and somehow get this team into the playoffs, even if it's just to lose in round one.

Thanks for the update. Tough to see how this season has come out from under us so quickly. Another season of what if. I'd love a run to the playoffs, but I think it'd take too much. I think the end of this season will be about getting Paul out there with Collison and Thorton to prepare fr next season.

Every season or so, some team goes 8-0 and someone else goes 0-8 to defy all practical probabilities and be that team that no #1 or #2 seed wants to play. If that's us, with Chris back, and absolutely no expectations, and the ability to play with utter abandon, I, for one, would love it. Damn those bouncing ping pong balls and the uncertain athletes ensuing.

Did Sean Marks piss off a gypsy in the off-season or something? He's just been hexed with injuries. I just have this nagging suspicion that he may have played his last game as a Hornet. Old, injury-prone and with a low ceiling - it would take a lot of faith from Bower and Co. to bring him back next year, no matter how cheap his contract is.
