The Spurs dominate the Hornets

I’m not going to mouth platitudes to you like “That’s what a real championship contender looks like” because that isn’t.  The Spurs are a contender, but for this game they combined their ridiculous depth and talent with just one of those nights that happen to every team a few times each season. (Remember the Hornets dismantling the Warriors a few weeks ago?)   A special night for the Spurs, and I’m so glad I had the volume way down while Sean Elliot was talking.  That guy is the biggest chump in sportscasting.

The Gordon Report:

Hornets247 Bracket Challenge Will Have Resolution Tonight (Open Title Game Thread)

Tonight is the final game of the NCAA Tournament and I’m breaking my habit of not caring about what happens. Anthony Davis can deliver me the title of Hornets247 Tournament Challenge champion with a win in the Superdome. If he manages to pull it off, I’ll know that he was meant to be a Hornet. Otherwise ccsusam11 will take home the victory and all the “honor” that comes with being the person who was right about Davis not becoming a Hornet.

Who you got? Even if you’re weedidy (last place among those who filled out the bracket), you can still win a prize. Guess who wins correctly and we’ll enter you in a random drawing for a pair of tickets to one of the remaining games. Guess who wins correctly and the final score, and we’ll hook you up with a pair of club level seats to attend a game.

In the NO Podcast Episode 61: The Unibrow Show

Okay, Michael and I don’t actually spend the entire show talking about Anthony Davis and his mystical unibrow, but we do have a really hard time not bringing him up as we talk about the current ceiling for the Hornets roster, me getting lambasted for the Giving everything and losing article, Eric Gordon’s return, the Golden State Win, being Dell Demps, etc, etc.

Anthony Davis hovers over it all, just like he hovers all that weaksauce stuff everyone throws up at the rim.

Hornets get roasted by the Suns

From the moment the game started, you could tell the Hornets were flat, and things fell apart about 16 minutes in.  Five road games in seven nights will do that to you. Maybe I shouldn’t have brought up how few blowouts the Hornets have been subjected to earlier in the week.

New Orleans Hornets 2011-12 Power Rankings, V.12

Despite having an active roster in single digits for most of the week, the Hornets fought tough; the 1-3 record might not look great, but the mere -1.5 scoring margin shows how well the team played, especially considering how undermanned it was.
