New Orleans Hornets 2010-2011 Season Schedule

View Joe Gerrity's profilePosted by Joe Gerrity August 10, 2010

This is the 2010-2011 Hornets Season Schedule. Most notes are at the bottom, but pay special attention to the first 17 games of the season. Only three are against teams which had losing records last year. The NBA didn't do the Hornets any favors early on.

This team and coaching staff is going to be tested early, and failure is not an option (had to say it). A bad start from a young, relatively inexperienced coaching staff could spell disaster for the prospect of competing for a playoff spot this year, especially with Paul's uncertain future. But if the team can come out of the gate hot, and keep their heads afloat in what is sure to be a wild Western Conference, then there's a chance they can make a real splash this year and provide a compelling case that New Orleans can win basketball titles, too.

Enjoy-

Hornets 2010 Summer League Schedule

View Joe Gerrity's profilePosted by Joe Gerrity June 15, 2010

Below is the entire Hornets Summer League schedule for 2010. All of their games will be taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the past few weeks I've managed to learn a few things about the team.

  • Marcus Thornton (who I interview tomorrow) will be in Las Vegas
  • Julian Wright (who was interviewed this weekend) will not be playing
  • Presumably whoever is drafted will be on the team
  • The Hornets are among the more active teams, playing 5 games in 9 days

Other than that, I don't know anything with any certainty. Fortunately that will soon change. This is probably an appropriate time to inform you all that I will be attending summer league for at least four games, hopefully with credentials. Interviews are being lined up and the coverage is going to be endless and in depth. Get ready for non stop Hornets action throughout the entire event.

Nuggets Beat Down the Bees

View Joe Gerrity's profilePosted by Joe Gerrity March 19, 2010

In a game that was at times reminiscent of the 2009 first round playoff series, the Denver Nuggets thoroughly dominated the weary New Orleans Hornets, 93-80. Yet again, the Bees simply didn't have the firepower to compete with the Nuggets.

In the first half Denver pretty much imposed their will, turning a 10 point first quarter lead into a 25 point margin at the half. For the first 18 minutes the Hornets split time at center between Emeka Okafor and Aaron Gray, with a 14 point deficit resulting. Neither was great at defending the interior, although Okafor did amass eight first quarter rebounds. It was when Bower went with a front court of West, Songaila, and Julian/Posey that the situation went from bad to worse. In the three minutes that followed the lead swelled to 23, and with it the game was essentially lost.

Hornets games you can't watch on TV

View Niall Doherty's profilePosted by Niall Doherty September 17, 2009

That is, unless you have NBA League Pass.

Last week CST announced they'd be showing 65 Hornets games this upcoming season. Combined with national TV appearances, that means most local fans will be able to watch 74 of the 82 Hornets regular season games on television.

The eight games that won't be televised nationally or on CST are as follows:

DateTime (Central)Game
Monday, Nov. 2 6:30 p.m. @ Knicks
Friday, Nov. 13 7:00 p.m. vs. Blazers
Saturday, Nov. 14 6:00 p.m. @ Hawks
Friday, Dec. 4 7:00 p.m. vs. T-Wolves
Friday, Dec. 11 7:00 p.m. vs. Knicks
Sunday, Dec. 20 12:00 p.m. @ Raptors
Wednesday, Jan. 13 7:00 p.m. vs. Clippers
Wednesday, Mar. 31
7:00 p.m. vs. Wizards

Sad face about the Blazers game especially; I guess someone at CST is superstitious with the date.

Anyone know any bars in the 504 area with NBA League Pass?
