So the Demps has a plan to make this team a contender. sounds good to me. but im not really sure what he has in mind...
Heres what i would do if i were him:
DC + Okafor + Peja for Granger + Dauhntay Jones + Hibbert + TJ Ford
With this trade we would get a very solid starting center in Hibbert. Not only that but we would aquire Jones to give us a great defensive 2 who can shoot. Then of course we would get Granger who would take all of Peja's minutes and produce at All-Star levels. last but not least we take TJ Fords expiring to just sweetin the trade for the Pacers because were essentially giving them a larger expiring in peja. TJ would also be a solid back up PG. Everyone would be happy with this trade i do believe, especially CP3. it would make 3 of our four spots more skilled and much bigger.
The next step would then be to trade Wright and Songalia for Gortat and Orton straight up. the salaries work out perfectly and the only question is whether or not we want to take on Gortats 4 years. this would however give us a strong skilled front court. We would also need Brackins/Ike (if we resign) to produce well in the 15-20 mins a game they get. Orlando would bite on this because Dwight never gets hurt and they need to lose some salary. JuJu and Songalia are both expiring while Gortat has 4 years. Orton is just a throw in to make the salaries match so if his attitude sucks we could just bench him and never let him play. but if he starts producing he could see minutes.
Here would be our new lineup for the year:
PG - CP3, TJ Ford
SG - Buckets, Jones
SF - Granger, Q-Pon, Posey
PF - West, Brackins/Diogu
C - Hibbert, Gortat
Bench: Orton, Gray, Diogu, FA Guard.
I think this would be a KILLER lineup that could push for first in the west. Our offense would dominate with Granger, CP3, Buckets, and West. while our defense would flourish with Jones, Posey, Hibbert, Q-Pon, and Gortat. we would have the size, skill and hustle to win a title.
If u have any better ideas post them please. :)

They will never give up Hibbert. It's a stretch to say they'd give up Granger, much less Jones with him, although I think that may be possible. But Hibbert is out of the question, although I would love to have him on the team.

You're going about our off-season a lot like I am. I really do believe some type of deal HAS to be done with Indiana. The only part I hate about that deal is that we would be getting TJ Ford back. In my opinion, he shouldn't be a point guard for any team above .500. This may be a personal issue to some extent, but I really don't like the man. Nonetheless, that deal would be extremely great for us, and I'd pull the trigger on it in a heartbeat, even if it does mean we'd have to take Ford.
Make it happen Demps!

@ Greg T:
Yeah, Hibbert is too valuable for them, and also a reason why I begin to doubt why in the world they would give up Granger AND take back Okafor's contract. Hey, we can hope.

@StefanC: yea the only way Indy would take the deal is if we take his huge contract off their hands. plus i think he could be a back up PG on a contending team but never a starting PG.
@Greg: hey man u may be very surprised at how much Indy wants a good PG. i think they may just bite on the future All-Star in DC and the Solid number of Okafor. As of now Okafor is better than hibbert because he has shown consistancy over the years where hibbert has only played 2 years.
so really it depends on if Indy wants to get an upcoming All-Star in DC and a slight upgrade at C/PF plus the cap space next season to sign a big name. They have been terrible the past few years so i think they would take the deal...
not only that but if they dont wanna give Hibbert away we could take Hansburough if the second deal was done first.
I think on the second deal we may actually be able to get Anderson instead of Orton because Orland wants Orton as backup C and they have Bass for backup PF.

What about a Peja + DC + maybe a draft pick for Granger and Jones?
Indiana would be getting a huge expiring contract, DC, possibly a draft pick if we need to give one up. During the off season they would have 50+ million in expiring contracts, very similar to what Miami had this year. They could go and spend big money for some of the big names for the upcoming Free Agency.
For the Hornets, we get an All Star at a position we need help with and a great back up for MT.
What do you think?

that sounds good to me but i think that indiani wants to get rid of TJ Ford so if u thro him into the deal and take out the draft pick i think theyd bite. indy has a larger expiring, and less cap space. we have a large expiring and two great players. wed have to take on like 2 mil extra in cap, but im sure well dump songalia or somthing so it doesnt matter

I think Peja + DC for Ford + Granger works as well, depending on how much Indiana wants to get rid of Ford. I'm not really sure why they want to, but if they do this works for them. Only disadvantage for Indiana in this trade is that they're giving up 8 million they could spend on free agency 2011.
Either way, I don't think Indiana would trade Granger until they see that their season is down the drain and Paul George isn't a bust that can replace Granger for the rest of the year.

I think a deal with Philly for Iguodala is more likely. DC + Peja for Iggy + Lou maybe.

@tobi i doubt philly would trae for considering they've already put all their eggs in jrue holidays basket...Why would they trade for another young, but clearly superior point guard, and demoralise the guy they consider as their pg of the future..,.
