If the New Orleans Hornets are interested in signing unrestricted free agent Brandon Bass, they may have to lock him up quickly with a contract offer because an increasing number of teams are pursing him.
The Charlotte Bobcats contacted his agent, Tony Dutt, on Thursday joining the Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks and the Hornets who have inquired about Bass, a backup power forward. It appears in order for the Hornets to sign Bass, they may have to offer a substantial portion of their mid-level exception expected to be about $5.6 million. With that price range, the Hornets may look to cheaper options.
