ORLANDO, FLA. — At the start of the season, Hornets rookies Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton were unsure about their roles because it appeared they would mostly be watching from the bench under former coach Byron Scott.
In the first five games, Thornton was on the inactive list and Collison was available but did not play.
"The first five games, I didn’t even have a jersey, and I knew I wasn’t going to play," Thornton said. "The guys always talked to me and said they went through the same thing when they were rookies. They told me to just take my time, feel things out and learn the game."
