    West and Gray played well. Julian was OK. Everyone else was downright awful, rookies included. Gray has definitely proven he can pass. Every time he's had a decent amount of minutes, he comes up with at least one nice one. Okafor looked like he wasn't trying out there. I was calling for Gray to come in in the 1st quarter. Yes, it was that bad. He was weak defensively and made no attempt to box out. I saw Westbrook grab a board that went about 3 inches over Okafor's head. By the time he managed to skim the net on the two FTs I was done. West worked hard out there through lots of physical play and double teams. He was not a happy camper by the end of the game. Also, I'd rather Julian take turn-around 20 footers than see Posey launch a 3 at this point. When he looked off an open Thornton to brick a deep 3, I threw things. #

    So the internet is buzzing again with people say Collison's assist numbers are inflated at home, just like we used to hear for Paul. Not to mention the Golden State play-by-play guy flat out accusing the score keeper of fudging the numbers, saying Collison had more like 13. I remember an article comparing Paul's and some other PG's home to away assist numbers. I thought it was on here, but I could be wrong. People conveniently leave out that his 18 assist night was AT Memphis.

    Zach Harper at Hardwood Paroxysm went through DC's assists last night one by one:

    I'll admit some of them are definitely ridiculous (Juju's spin move was credited as an assist for example). I don't really care about this, but I'm worried that it will be viewed as something only happening here and not in every arena every night. I do believe it's an issue, but a league wide one, not just NO score keepers inflating their PGs assists. #

    Three things jump out at me when looking at the table. First, how is Songaila at the bottom of the pack by that much? It's not even close. I don't pretend to understand how this stuff works, but I thought Songaila has been a solid backup all season, despite my problems with him playing center for long stretches. I wonder why his numbers are so low, and if playing out of position is a part of it. Second, Posey's numbers are almost exactly the same as last year. I do remember him going through a shooting slump, but I definitely don't remember groaning every time he went into the game. To me, it seemed like he is playing significantly worse this year. The last thing is that for all of the bashing (and benching), that has been aimed at Okafor this year, according to this metric, he has been outperforming David West. I assume this is due to his defensive abilities, but it's not something I expected to see. #

    There were a lot of questionable calls in my opinion. The timeout they gave to Gasol when he was rolling around on the floor, possibly without the ball, was bad. The flop by Gasol on Buckets was worse, dude outweighs him by close to 100lbs probably and he went flying. Of course, Rudy Gay had a legitmate gripe a couple of times; he got about as much respect as our rookies get. Okafor definitely slapped his arm on that botched dunk. I'd say they got the benefitted more than we did, but I'm incredibly biased. That being said, this game should have been well in hand despite whistles or that damn banked 3. Simple execution on both sides of the ball in the fourth was horrible, and Posey played like he had Julian Wright's brain on drugs. Ugly to watch. Well at least we paly the robot-efficient Spurs next. Sigh. #

    I'm sick of no center in the fourth. Not that Gray or Okafor played great, but no big man in the middle hurts in crunch time. Conley got that last floater off of a pick and roll, which is supposedly why we play Songaila/Posey in the fourth, so what's the point of going small.
    At least with D-Song back, Posey's minutes were cut. He was a disaster in those minutes though. 10 seconds left, get the ball to a damn guard! #

    If Gil is really knowledgeable about basketball then I'm pissed he dumbs it down for broadcasts.

    @Ronin

    The 3rd one was even worse than your remembered. It was "Treja Stoy-arc-a-swish." My brain hurts.

    Big Nasty definitely works. In any case, it's better than "Moobs." #

    @NOEngineer Priceless

    This game and the Arena tonight were simply incredible. It's worth sitting through any number of shoddy performances just to get the chance to see a game like this. As far as the actual basketball played, I haven't even been able to digest what went on. I do think Posey and Buckets combined for a ton of big rebounds in the fourth, that had a huge effect on the outcome of this one. Besides that, West was a beast, and Gray obliterated all our expectations of him in this one performance. Great night. Off too celebrate. #
