The ability to annoy people is highly overrated.
While we are out looking for reasons to bad-mouth the fan base and rooting for losses, why not also root for some career-ending injuries that might strategically help our team, a nice big hurricane so we can all remodel our houses, and the chance for our loved ones to cash in on our life insurance. Yay!
I was glad to see Mo bounce back. All 8 players contributed a little something extra to this win. Still too many defensive lapses, but a fun offensive night.
I like Aaron Gray. Hope he sticks. Anyone else notice the Okafor/Gray combo against the Suns. With his newly polished jumper, maybe Okafor can play some power forward.....

About half of A'M'A'R'e"s free throws came when he was 18 feet from the basket, and all he had to do was swing his arms around and maybe pivot once or twice to initiate contact. West and Thornton and Okafor have to lose a limb to get a call. I still think the Hornets get the least respect from the referees of any team with legitimate playoff aspirations, especially at home. #

I thought the game was very entertaining through the first 3 quarters while it was evenly refereed. "Playoff Basketball" rules for the Nuggets as the pushed the Hornets out of the way for several steals and came over the back for several rebounds, while lots of ticy-tack fouls early in the 4th on the Hornets discouraged their defense. The interpretation of shooting versus non-shooting fouls seemed off as well. That play that included the technical foul on Bower was a real joke. I could see live from the opposite end of the upper bowl that Anthony finger rolled that out of bounds.
Mo Pete played so horribly on offense I wanted to cry. His 2 missed FTs at the end of the 3rd were particularly frustrating.
I think Posey's rebounding was missed. They would have given him 12 fouls in the 4th quarter, however. Julian looked much more focused tonight than I can ever remember.
I kept thinking that all we needed was one little 56-0 run to equal that beating we took in the playoffs last year. We just never got it..... #

I see zero centers with a better PER than Okafor that were remotely available to trade for. I don't remember any free agents sitting around that could beat out Aaron Gray, let alone Okafor. Okafor's PER would be higher, in my opinion, if he were given starter's minutes.
I'm a big fan of healthy Chandler. I also enjoyed $1 per gallon gasoline. Unfortunately, I don't think either are available any more.
When you run the show, you have to evaluate the opportunities presented by the moment, and avoid being paralyzed by the mythical opportunities that you wish would occur. I'm glad Bower did not leave us with 30 games of unhealthy Chandler and 50 games of unhealthy Sean Marks and healthy Hilton Armstrong. Even the mix we got of Okafor and Songaila was FAR better than that. #

I've been a big Posey supporter, but he was worse than useless for 3+ quarters tonight, You mentioned Morrow, but Devean George was Posey's first charity of the evening, He made 8 straight points without Posey even attempting to stay near him. He refuses to jump for rebounds, although he does box out well. He won't/can't run. Okafor and Songaila were giving infinitely more value, but Posey ate a lot of their minutes.
Can you imagine CP3 and the two rookies all being able to play at full pace in various combinations throughout the game? CP3 has always had to pace himself to last for 40+ minutes, but maybe now he won't.....

Avery does not inspire confidence with his demeanor, and his voice is really annoying. More fundamentally, I got the feeling that his players won in spite of him, not because of him. That is true of Flower, and was true of Scott in much of his tenure. I would like to have a coach that can inspire and orchestrate a group of average (for the NBA) talent level to excel at the basics and display a lot of heart. Right now we generally suck at the basics (help defense, boxing out for rebounds, rolling and cutting to the basket, catching the ball and finishing) and show heart only when hopelessly behind. CP3 is an abvious exception, and each of our players has a strength or two that can be built upon by the right coach. I hope that guy is not Avery Johnson, nor Jeff Bower/Tim Floyd.
What I liked most about Scott and Silas was their classy strong demeanor that represneted the city and team in a positive light. I definitely don't see that in Avery. Too much clowning and not enough strength. I think this contributes to a lack of player respect.
I don't have another candidate to propose, but Shinn won't be checking my list anyway.... #

On the last "play", the rookies showed their inexperience. Neither got open, and neither got close enough to Posey to allow a clean pass. You can be CP3 would have chased down Posey and grabbed the ball from him to make the play. Still a dissapointing lack of awareness and poise from Posey.
Aaron Gray did nothing tonight except box out, rebound, and defend. He needs to stay on the bench. Don't want the middle of our painted area all clogged up and stuff.....
Gasol's flop giving an offensive foul to Marcus was pathetic.
It seemed like maybe both teams were trying to give this one away..... #
