@nikkoewan-You are definitely correct. I remember that Lebron incident. #

Sounds like GS play by play guy was mad that Collison was running all over his rookie counterpart. LOL! Even if you take away at least 5 of Collison's assists, he was still doing whatever he wanted to do against Curry. Cry me a river. #

Anyone watching Rajon Rondo's home/away? 10.8/home, 9.1/away. Is that under a microscope? #

I remember last year people were trying to talk about the difference in CP's home/away assists. Last year he averaged 11.8/home, 10.3 away. Deron Williams averaged 11.4/home, 10.0/away. Yet, no one talks about Deron Williams home/away differential. My guess is people hate that CP is really good and not on their favorite team. LOL!
Just about every player plays better at home. When CP leads the league in assists, he's put under a microscope. Was Nash or Stockton or whoever came before Paul put under a microscope when they led the league in assists? Why ignore when Paul drops 21 assists IN L.A.? Why ignore the 16 this season IN Dallas? #

Ok, here it is...
"What constitutes an assist? Does a player have to score directly after he receives the ball from a teammate? Or can he dribble the score? What if a player takes an inbounds past at his baseline, dribbles the whole length of the court, then scores. Is there an assist on that play?

Bernie's Answer: I've received a number of questions related to game statistics (assists, blocks, turnovers, etc.). Referees are not responsible for determining these stats. There are courtside statisticians who enter game events in real-time (check nba.com while you're watching a game to see live play-by-play stats). The statisticians use guidelines for what counts in different categories. I asked our Director of Game Administration to help clarify this for us. Here is what he said:
An assist is credited to the player tossing the last pass leading directly to a field goal, only if the player scoring the goal responds by demonstrating immediate reaction toward the basket. This can include dribbling, as well as receiving a pass from out of bounds. In your example where the player dribbles the entire length of the court, the inbounder would not be credited with an assist due to the fact that the pass did not lead directly to a field goal."

So it seems as long as the scoring is demonstrating immediate reaction toward the basket, an assists is credited to the passer. I mean I'm sure the scorer can't hold the ball, dribbling for 10 seconds and the passer gets credited with an assist but it isn't just asssists on catch and shoots and alley oops. #

@TheRonin-Good points on Thornton. I agree that "Reckless Abandon" describes him well right now. LOL! And "Fearless". I keep telling myself how happy I am the Hornets snatched him from the Heat.
@Ryan-I've been seeing that quite a bit from West. And I love it. LOL!
@LSUHornet17-People need something to talk about. They obviously feel CP3 brings his own personal statistician with him each game. The rules say that if the player that receives the ball is making a direct move towards the basket an assist is credited. Wait, let me go find it.....

@TheRonin-I'll try to watch that Marcus block attempt when I watch the repeat tonight or tomorrow afternoon. He does get up there. I just prefer him to try to have better body control when coming down. He definitely goes all out. I love his hustle. #

The days of Posey guarding speedy wingmen are long over. Gone.
I, too, am loving Marcus Thornton. Kid is just too much fun to watch. And he always has this look on his face like he means business. Like he's not taking ish from nobody. LOL!

We had a very good January. We were just starting to click and then CP went out. He was even Western Conference Player of the Month. We might be sitting at least in the 6th or 7th seed right now. D*mn injuries!! #
