caleb- excellent points. as you said his per is outstanding, and that is mainly a offensive/usage stat. the more possessions he has to convert, the higher his per can be. so i think pace does play a role in his numbers. obviously, lee does a great job using those possessions efficiently and is a great player.

i just have a hard time believing, by this formula, he is better than bogut or marc gasol. both of those guys are clearly behind howard in my mind. #

nice work and an interesting breakdown. i know you're still tweaking it, but i think adjusted pace needs to be part of the formula. would love to see if lee still ranks as highly without the dantoni pace inflation.

@joe- completely agree that the hornets are mediocre because of the peja/mo pete/posey triumvirate of oblivion. but i think most observers would have figured that coming into the season and hoped okafor would be able to make a difference in overcoming that tremendous burden. admittedly an unrealistic expectation. he is a quality player, i just worry about his play with west and really worry about his contract. #

dont think anyone is seriously arguing the hornets would be better this year with chandler.

okafor is a quality player, but it is completely fair to question whether he is worth the substantial amount of money owed to him the next 4 years. the season has one month left, and the hornets are on the outside looking in. plus the hornets will will have a payroll in the $70+ million range again next year. why can't we ask what has been a problem this year and discuss how the hornets can fix what ails them? #

okafor deal looks worse and worse as the season progresses. and thats with tc being alternately hurt and terrible in charlotte. okafor just doesn't effect the game they way many- myself included- thought he would. moving okafor this summer should be explored. he aint worth the $50+ mil left on his contract.

blog post about this a while ago, but i agree completely- the hornets have one of the most mismatched collections of post talent in the league. #
